AMiDA, which stands for Academy for Microfinance Development in Asia, will be conducted for the third time in May 2010, following the successful running of the first and second AMiDA, held in 2008 and 2009 respectively. The sequential annual event marks its strong existence as the leading microfinance academy in Asia, featuring international standards and best practices applicable for Asia / Pacific market. Modeled after the world leading academies, the event provides intensive training programs to microfinance practitioners and policy makers. While focusing on technical issues, the classes are led by international and Indonesian microfinance experts and held in a participative environment, allowing brainstorming and sharing to ensure best learning experience. Please visit the official website for AMiDA or download the brochure for details.FROM AMiDA 2009 Last year's AMiDA was was held April 29 - May 6, 2009 in Sanur, Bali. The program was attended by 91 participants from 42 organizations based in 6 countries. Faculty comprised of 8 trainers taught 9 courses offered. The courses ranged on a spectrum of practical microfinance issues and included topics such as product development, savings mobilization and housing finance for the poor. Field visits to 5 MFIs around Bali were conducted in order to provide deeper understanding of Indonesian MFIs. Summary Statistics
