In the previous blog, we have discussed Producer Cooperatives, so this time we will discuss one example of a Producer Cooperative, namely the Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative, which at the time of the establishment of this Cooperative there was MICRA involvement.
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MINA BANGKIT BERSAMA COOPERATIVE
Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative is a producer cooperative in the fisheries sector, especially shrimp ponds, which helps shrimp farmers to get access to capital for their shrimp pond business. It was established on 20 May 2024 in Karangrejo Village, Banyuwangi District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province with the support of the Yayasan Sinergi Akuakultur Indonesia (YSAI) and Konservasi Indonesia, in addition to receiving support from YSAI, MICRA also took part in the establishment of the Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative in the form of Management Support and the establishment of MFIs which is one of the services of MICRA itself. The aim of this cooperative is to advance the welfare of its members in particular and the community in general and to contribute to building the national economic order in order to create an advanced, just and prosperous society.
VISION
Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative has a vision to become a superior, professional and independent fisheries cooperative in providing economic solutions for members.
MISION
Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative has 3 series of missions, they are:
Develop the economy of members in particular, and the Indonesian people in general by creating businesses that can support the welfare of members
Fostering a work culture that is honest, trustworthy, fair, professional, creative, innovative and able to face the obstacles ahead.
Creating strong Cooperative Human Resources for members, management, supervision, and management by applying “Good Cooperative Governance” education and principles.
MAIN ACTIVITIES OF MINA BANGKIT BERSAMA COOPERATIVE
The main activities of Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative are providing loans for shrimp farmers, counselling activities, education, and skills training for members. In addition to providing loans to members, the cooperative also serves the purchase of shrimp farming needs for farmers outside the cooperative.
CONCLUSION
In the establishment of the Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative, MICRA took a role in helping to take care of the administration of the Cooperative such as taking care of licensing, drafting by-laws, and so on, which is a service from MICRA itself, namely the establishment of MFIs and Management Support. Currently, Mina Bangkit Bersama Cooperative has 17 members who are shrimp farmers.
