On January 21, 2020, MICRA held the 1st HERfinance training at PT Kudos Istana Furniture. The training was started at 9.30 WIB and finished at 12.00 WIB. The training was attended by 30 Peer Educators (PEs) that are PT Kudos Istana Furniture workers from all departments in that factory, with Mr. Alfi Syahrin as the trainer in this session.
The first training was about the Introduction of Financial Planning. The objective of the training was to understand the financial goals, the importance of financial planning and how to do financial planning and dividing wants and needs that can help to achieve their financial goals through prioritizing the needs. The training was started with the trainer asked about their financial goals, then the trainer introduced the concept of financial planning to the PEs. Furthermore, the trainer also explained that financial planning will also help us dealing with unforeseen circumstances and protect our families from financial difficulties during emergencies.
On discussion and practice session PEs were asked to form a group of discussion and discuss their short and long term financial goals and make initial planning on how to achieve those financial goals. Moreover, some of the PEs present their discussion result in front of the class and explained their financial goals and financial planning that they have been discussed with their group. This activity also encouraged the PEs to be more confident in terms of public speaking skills that will help them to share the knowledge to their peers. Lastly, at the end of the 1st training session, the trainer summarizes the 1st topic that has been learned and the other topics that PEs will learn for the next 5 sessions.
